History
Founded in 1990, our company was started from the legal abstract files of Robert James Page. We established base files on real estate subdivisions in the local area, which was growing quickly. New subdivisions were added to our files for town houses and condominiums within them. Real estate documents, such as restrictions, plats, and easements, were organized to better facilitate real estate transactions more smoothly for closing attorneys. We decided to open a company to write title insurance for First American Title Insurance Company.
Policy Inventory Book
Our policy inventory book includes property transactions dating back to 1990. This book covers all insured properties in two sections: a list of subdivisions arranged alphabetically and numerically by lot number with the corresponding last name and order number (CH-##-YR). The other section is sorted alphabetically by last name for insured properties that aren't in a formal subdivision, such as "old in town" lots and "property of owners" lots out in the county. In addition, all our commercial properties are listed there. This summer we will send out a new book that will be strictly devoted to all insured property addresses that are sorted by county, then alphabetically by street, and then numerically by street number. This will be a more permanent way of keeping track of our insured properties since many legal descriptions in formal subdivisions evolve into "property of owners" when the lot lines move. With this book organized by street address, we hope the identification process for our insured properties will be as fast as possible.
